EVENT: Update regarding traffic fatality, occurred November 14, 2009, 300
Block of Border Street, Orange, Texas
INFORMATION: During the course of the investigation of this event, it has been learned that the driver of the vehicle presented a false identification during the initial phases of the investigation.
The true name of the driver is Sherrie LeBouf Busby a twenty-three year old white female of Orange, Texas. During the initial investigation she held her self out to be her twin sister, Carrie Laughlin, and provided identifying information as such. Sherrie LeBouf Busby provided the false identity in an effort to prevent her arrest for outstanding traffic warrants. Criminal charges regarding her having provided false information regarding her true identity are being considered.
There is no new information regarding the events specific to the fatality. Information regarding whether or not alcohol or drugs may have been factor are pending the return of toxicology tests.
